Jones stops Sheika!

Hometown hero and former four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr., (53-5, 39 KOs) outclassed Omar Sheika (27-9, 18 KOs) in winning a fifth round TKO in a light heavyweight clash on Saturday night at the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, Florida. Jones was in command the whole way. Referee Tommy Kimmons waved it off almost immediately after Jones cut Sheika over the right eye. Time was 1:45.

Unbeaten WBO #7/WBA #9/WBC #12 cruiserweight BJ Flores (23-0-1, 14 KOs) outboxed dangerous Columbian banger Jose Luis Herrera (16-6-1, 16 KOs) over ten rounds. Scores were 98-92, 99-91, 99-91. It was Flores’ first bout fighting under the Square Ring banner.

Unbeaten bantamweight Kieyon Bussey (7-0, 4 KOs) won a highly controversial six round majority decision over Robert DaLuz (11-17, 9 KOs). Scores were 57-57, and 58-56, 58-56 for the hometown fighter Bussey who took a beating the last few rounds.
